About
Joseph Burnett, A.K.A DOCTOR JAY, is an artist, producer, composer and self-proclaimed ‘storyteller’ with a mission to inspire, teach and connect with his music. His widespread influences lead to his unique and heartfelt sound, inspired by Jon Bellion, Jacob Collier and many other legends, blending R&B, Soul, Pop, Hip-Hop and surrounding styles.
His journey truly began with his debut album ‘Heartbreak Anthology: Volume 1’ in 2023, surpassing his projects before and telling a 13-track story of heartbreak, and his journey throughout. The project was then paid homage to 2 years later with his live EP ‘HA:V1 Live!’ In 2025, wrapping up the story of volume 1 and gearing up for new ventures.
DOCTOR JAY’s work has also been heard on BBC’s ‘Boarders’, with the award-nominated original ‘Never Be The Same’ released within the show’s original soundtrack album in 2025. His productions have also seen radio play across BBC Introducing, and with the number of artists he produces alongside like Garonique and Viktoria Kaufman.
